Azeri, a game developed in the 2020 Unreal Game Jam by Reckless Goat Studios, was unfortunately a project I could not participate in during initial development. The landscape and gameplay experience, however, made me yearn to create a beautiful music experience for the project.

Writing the score with a central melody as it's focal point, it begins to shift in tone, mood, and orchestration as Azeri brings new followers to help their journey. Instruments from both the East and West combine to create colorful orchestral textures ranging from the mysterious, powerful, playful, and solemn.

While I originally began writing for Azeri in early 2021, life had a way of taking me away from this project for almost six months. In that time I married my wife, lost two people dear to me and my family, and lost our apartment due to flooding in Hurricane Ida. Now, at the end of the year, it brings me great joy to share this short, but intentional, orchestral world I created for this project.

We at Reckless Goat Studios hope to include these tracks into the Unity files shortly after Christmas break, so please stay tuned if you'd like to see these tracks paired with the beautiful world and storytelling of Azeri. Until then, I hope you enjoy!
